Indica With Me is a segment based podcast named after one of the two primary strands of weed. Indica is an “in the couch” strain that is great for chronic pain, anxiety relief, and relaxation. We invite our listeners and guests to get in the couch with us and have important conversations about the ideas that shape our world. We aim to promote progressive conversations, from the political sphere to pop culture and societal norms.

If we as a society have missed the mark on Marijuana, what other ideas are we choosing to accept the status quo?

Segments

  • Indica With Me

This is a segment named after the show itself. During this block, we will be talking about Marijuana, CBD, and other non-THC healing herbs that can help people live a happy healthy life. his segment will bring those benefits to light through talking with experts, talking through the evidence, chronic pain patients, and community members connected to the conversation about Marijuana.

Indica With Me inspires to work with local community groups and stores, dispensaries and other related industries to speak with chronic pain patients, healers, and related topics that overall improve quality of life.

  • Chronic Pain For One, Please

Chronic pain (CP) can feel lonely, those of us with CP get so caught up in our own situation that we can often be detached from the world. Two examples CP isolates people is through ableist, inflexible expectations of society and our health system, a product of that society.

People are struggling in silence- this conversation needs to be had with the gravitas it deserves. Starting with the patients. Our health system is failing our Chronic Pain patients through dismissals and small minded thinking. People need help dealing with pain day to day.

  • What the Patriarchal Bullshit!

To define Patriarchy according to Cambridge dictionary it is a form of social organization in which fathers or other males control the family, clan, tribe, or larger social unit, or a society organized in this way. This would definitely be the society that leads the United States of America, many other nation states, and national organizations- even if the organization is built to support women.

Frankly, we at Indica With Me call bullshit.

Our patriarchal way of framing our society had a major impact on our society and we would like to explore the marks it has made.

  • YT on YT Crime

This is where we tackle the “spin factor”. The spinning of news and public relations campaigns has been strong in the United States for centuries: example, Rockefeller who died a “philanthropist” in legend rather than a corner cutting business man who’s actions murdered people while paying his workers with “RockBucks”, effectively turning them into indentured servants.

Dog whistles in all spectrums of media are used to signal to investors one message, while presenting something different to the general audience. Indica With Me will look at targeted information and disinformation, along with their long and short-term goals with the messaging.

  • What The Book?!

    Book Club

Let’s talk literature: historically based, womanist focused, pop-culture enlightening topics are what we bring into the couch. What will be special about this Indica’s Book Club is the guest host will rotate depending on the topic and what value they can bring to the conversation.

We will promote the book before we talk about it, so our community can be a part of this conversation. Indica wants to read, share and learn with you.

    Let’s get our book on.

    Music, Movie and TV Addition

Music, television and movies are as American as apple pie and racism. They define our culture, fashion, and many other industries through product the promotion, lifestyle norms, and acceptable or unacceptable opinions by what is seen through media: music, movies, and television. Media is so closely connected and controlled by the powerful, and in the U.S., powerful is synonymous with wealthy. Knowing this, most Americans who fall under the wealthy 1 % spend too little time thinking and dissecting the messages fed to us on a daily basis and the call to actions that media [an art form] inherently includes. The viewers need to be aware and consciously participate with art experiencers rather than art escapists.
